The Social Value Quality Mark® (SVQM) has today announced a new fast-track Bronze and Silver accreditation route, enabling organisations to achieve Silver status in as little as three months.
The launch responds directly to a maturing market, growing commissioner expectations, and feedback from organisations seeking a faster pathway to independently assured social value.
Under the traditional route, achieving both Bronze and Silver typically takes 12 months. The new fast-track option recognises that many medium and large organisations now have the foundations firmly in place — including embedded strategy, governance structures, and documented evidence of delivery — and are ready to progress at pace.
Crucially, the fast-track pathway does not reduce rigour or standards. Bronze remains the mandatory entry point, and organisations must still meet all evidence requirements for both levels. The new route simply offers greater flexibility to draw from existing current data, removing unnecessary delay for organisations already operating at a higher level of maturity.
A timely development for public procurement
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for public procurement, as commissioners place increasing emphasis on credible, evidenced social value that stands up to scrutiny. With procurement reform accelerating and expectations rising across sectors, the ability to demonstrate higher level assurance is increasingly a commercial advantage.
The fast-track route enables organisations to:
- Prove impact sooner to commissioners and investors
- Strengthen bid competitiveness with independently verified evidence
- Reduce the time to recognition for established social value practice
- Demonstrate maturity and governance in line with evolving procurement requirements
- Accelerate the benefits for people and communities
A quality pathway to social value maturity
The Social Value Quality Mark® remains the UK’s only independently governed, multi-level mark of accreditation focused on behaviour, systems, approaches, delivery and organisational culture. The fast-track route reinforces SVQM’s commitment to supporting organisations on a credible, structured journey toward social value maturity. It’s increasingly sought and trusted by commissioning teams, local authorities and regional partnerships, such as Liverpool Region Combined Local Authority and the Cheshire & Merseyside Health & Care Partnership.
Huw Evans, SVQM CIC’s Director of Quality, says:
“Many organisations have told us they are ready to move faster. They have the governance, the strategy and the evidence — and they want a pathway that reflects their maturity. The fast-track Bronze–Silver route maintains the same high standards, but removes unnecessary barriers for organisations already delivering meaningful, measurable impact.
“It allows for existing evidence to be transferred where appropriate, and prioritises maturity, quality and outcomes over terminology such as ESG, Social Value and CSR. Most importantly, it helps accelerate the benefits for people and communities, ensuring that positive change is recognised sooner and shared more widely.”
