One of the largest business and IT consulting firms in the world – CGI – has been awarded the prestigious Silver accreditation by SVQM CIC. The award recognises CGI for delivering significant positive outcomes for clients, employees, communities and the environment.
Building on their previous Bronze-level accreditation, CGI has demonstrated a strong commitment to measuring, calculating, and enhancing its social value, with a robust approach to showcasing its contributions. The Silver Social Value Quality Mark is awarded to organisations that meet the highest standards.
To earn this accolade, CGI in the UK was assessed on key metrics, including reducing its carbon footprint, supporting youth skills development, investing in local economies, and ensuring fair treatment for staff. SVQM auditors undertook interviews with key stakeholder groups and also evaluated the organisation’s ethical decision-making and responsible supply chain practices.
The auditor particularly noted and commended CGI’s innovative Social Value Calculator, developed to assist members, partners, and clients in accurately calculating their social contributions.
Richard Dickins, Managing Director of Social Value Quality Mark CIC, highlighted CGI’s achievement, saying:
“Organisations have a responsibility to operate in ways that add value to society. Through the Quality Mark, we champion the highest standards in values-led business. CGI in the UK’s Silver accreditation showcases robust evidence and a genuine commitment to driving social value across its operations.
“We commend CGI for drawing on its core expertise as a tech consultancy to develop specific innovations that help unlock social value for all.”
Mattie Yeta, Chief Sustainability Officer for CGI in the UK said:
“We’re thrilled to have received the highest score awarded by SVQM for the Silver Quality Mark. This is testament to the robust governance processes and work we’ve put in over the last few years to embed social value and sustainability in our organisation’s DNA. Moving forwards, we’ll continue to use our technological expertise to develop our capabilities and tools to support our member-partners and clients, and we look forward to working with the Social Value Quality Mark throughout this process.”
